The Sister's Club, Megan McDonald, 181 pages, December 28, 2010

I just finished reading a 181 paged book by Megan McDonald on December 28, 2010 called The Sister's Club.  It's about a girl named Stevie who's having a lot of trouble with her family.  1. She's stuck in the middle of two sisters.  2. Everyone in her family loves acting....except her.  3. Alex is so worried about her play she's going to be in and her love Scott Howell (a.k.a. Scott Towel) that she's ignoring the Sister's Club!  Will Alex get it together and start paying attention to her sisters again?
I liked this book because if I had little sisters I would probably act the same way toward them as Alex did.  For example, when Joey embarrassed Alex in front of Scott and Stevie ruined her favorite sweater, Alex got really mad and didn't talk to them.  But in the end, the Sister's Club was reunited!
I would recommend this book to girls 5+ who have a sister(s) or want to.

Bad Girls Don't Die, Katie Alender, 346 pages, December 22, 2010

I just finished reading Bad Girls Don't Die by Katie Alender.  It has 346 pages in it and I finished it on December 22, 2010.  It's about a girl named Alexa who is desperately trying to figure out what's wrong with her little sister, Kasey.  Questions are running through Alexa's mind.  Why do doors keeping opening and closing on their own?  Why does the temperature in the house drop to below freezing?  Why are Kasey's eyes turning from blue to green?  Why is Kasey forgetting everything?  How can Megan Wiley help?  And what is up with the new chip on Kasey's shoulder?
I liked this book because it keeps you guessing.  For example, when Megan ran out of cheer-leading practice with Alexa after Alexa told Megan all about Kasey's unusual behavior, you kept reading because you wanted to know where Megan was taking Alexa and how she could help with the situation.
I would recommend this book to kids 12+.

Here's Lily!, Nancy Rue, 128 pages, December 19, 2010

I just finished reading Here's Lily! by Nancy Rue.  It has 128 pages in it and I finished it on December 19, 2010.  It's about a girl named Lily who really wants to be a model but her parents won't let her unless she finds God somewhere in the modeling agency.  On top of that, Shad Shifferdeck had been really mean lately, and Lily and her friends have to stop him......by getting him to come to the modeling show.  But when a horrible accident changes Lily's mind, she must choose to find God or be miserable.
I liked this book because it was really girly and I related her to me.  For example, Lily was very dramatic (just like most girls! xD) and if a boy was being mean, I would probably want to show him what I'm made of my getting him to the show.
I would recommend this book to girls 8+.

Eclipse, Stephenie Meyer, 629 pages, December 19, 2010

I just finished reading a 629 paged book called Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer on December 19, 2010.  It is the third book in the Twilight series.  It's about a girl named Bella who is dating a vampire named Edward.  Edward is soon going to turn Bella into a vampire.  But Bella's best friend, a werefolf (F.Y.I. werewolves are enemies to the vampires) named Jacob does not want Bella to become immortal.  But who's side will Bella take?  Her best friend's or her fiance's?
I liked this book because it talked about Jacob more than in the first two books.  Also, it showed more of the characters' (mostly Jacob and Edward's) fellings toward Bella.  For example, Edward was honest with Bella and told her in practically a whole chapter about how much he loved her and didn't want to change her to immortality.  And Jacob was open with Bella about how much he loved her and didn't want her to become immortal either.  I also liked how Jacob and Edward became sort of friends (more like acquaintances) in the end.
I would recommend this book to teenage girls that like the romance/fantasy genre.

The Mysterious Benedict Society, Trenton Lee Stewart, 485 pages, December 5, 2010

I just finished reading the 485 paged book The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart on December 5, 2010.  It's about a group of gifted children who are taken to Mr. Benedict to go on a very important mission-they were to stop Mr. Ladroptha Curtain from taking over the world.  But with each question come an answer.  So obviously these children will defeat Mr. Curtain.  Or will they?
I liked this book because every one of their problems, no matter how intriguing, just got better and better.  For example, when Reynie was looking in at the Recruiters through a window (which is a very dangerous task) he was spotted and had to get away.
I would recommend this book to kids ages 7 to adult.

Maggie Bean Stays Afloat, Tricia Rayburn, 316 pages, December 2, 2010

I just finished reading Maggie Bean Stays Afloat by Tricia Rayburn.  It has 316 pages in it and I finished it on December 2, 2010.  It is the follow up of the Melting of Maggie Bean.  Maggie has decided to swear off boys for the summer after Peter rejected her.  But when she gets a job at Camp Sound View and meets Ben, everything changes.  She starts ignoring her old friends and skipping Patrol This meetings.  Maggie's friend Aimee has even stopped talking to her.  On top of that, the Beans are having trouble finding a reasonably priced house.  Will Maggie be able to pull everything together?
I liked this book because it was very girly and sweet.  For example almost the entire book was about boys which is very girly.
I would recommend this book to tweens and teenage girls.
