Just Ella, Maragret Peterson Haddix, 218 pages, June 13, 2011

I just finished reading 218 pages out of the book Just Ella by Margaret Peterson Haddix on June 13, 2011.  It's about a girl named Ella who is swept away to marry a prince and become a princess and live in a castle.  Sounds nice, huh?  Well, soon Ella realizes that she doesn't love the prince.  She doesn't want to marry him.  So now, Ella must figure out a way to escape...and stay alive.
My favorie character int this book was Mary, the servant girl.  I liked her because she was kind.  For example, when Ella was trapped in the dungeon and starving, Mary brught her food and a shovel to dig herself out.
I would recommend this book to girls 10-14.

Out of the Dust, Karen Hesse, 227 pages, June 13, 2011

I just finished reading 227 pages out of the book Out of the Dust by Karen Hesse on June 13 2011.  It's about a girl named Billie Jo who is stuck in the Oklahoma Panhandle during the dustbowl.  It hasn't really bothered her much, especially since she has her piano to keep her company and she has a new baby brother on the way.  But when a terrible disaster crushed Billie Jo'shopes and dreams, she feels like it's time to get out of the dust.
My favorite character in this book was Louise.  I liked her because she was a good listener.  For example, when Billie Jo was telling Louise about her life, she nodded but was listening very well.
I would recommend this book to kids 11+.

Soul Surfer, Bethany Hamilton, 222 pages, June 10, 2011

I just finished reading 222 pages out of the book Soul Surfer by Bethany Hamilton on June 10, 2011.  It's about a girl named Bethany who loves to surf.  One day she goes surfing and gets her arm eaten off by a tiger shark.  But she puts all her faith in God and trusts him to help her cope with a missing limb.
My favorite character in this book is Bethany.  I liked her because she has such a great faith in God.  For example, when Bethany lost her arm, she just let God take care of everything and knew that she was going to use her story as an inspiration.
I would recommend this book to people 10+.

The Hiding Place, Corrie ten Boom with John and Elizabeth Carrol, 241 pages, May 2011

I just finished reading 241 pages out of The Hiding Place by Corrie ten Boom with John and Elizabeth Carrol in May of 2011.  It's about a woman named Corrie who is sent to a concentration camp with her sister Betsie.  They hate it there, but they have to figure out how to be grateful in all circumstances and trust God.
My favorite character in this book is Betsie.  I liked her because she loved God and everybody else.  For example, when the guards were beating her up, she still loved them and worshiped God.
I would recommend this book to people 13+.

Unlocked, Karen Kingsbury, 314 pages, May 17, 2011

I just finished reading 314 pages out of the book Unlocked by Karen Kingsbury on May 17, 2011.  It's about a boy named Holden Harris who was diagnosed with autism when he was three.  He used to be best friends with Ella Reynolds.  But Ella's mom decided that she didn't want Holden around Ella, so Mrs. Reynolds and Mrs. Harris's friendship separated.  Now, Ella and Holden are going to high school together.  And Ella seems to be the only one to bring Holden out of his autistic trance.  Her...and music.
My favorite character in this book was Holden.  I liked him because he is really adorable.  For example, when Holden prays he never says Amen.  He says "Your friend, Holden Harris."
I would recommend this book to teenagers and adults.

Call Me Mrs. Miracle, Debbie Macomber, 253 pages, May 17, 2011

I just finished reading 253 pages out of the book Call Me Mrs. Miracle by Debbie Macomber on May 17, 2011.  It's about a woman named Emily Merkle (a.k.a. Miracle) who has a secret about her.  She seems to know everything about everyone and she seems to know how to hook Holly Larson and Jake Finley up.  Holly is taking care of her nephew while her brother is in Afghanistan.  Jake, the son of a very fanous buisnessman, is trying to sell five hundred toys he bought for the Christmas season.  Holly needs to buy this exact toy for her nephew for Christmas.  Holly and Jake up meeting and fall in love.  All because of Emily Miracle.
My favorite character in this book was Emily Miracle.  I liked her because she was nice.  For example, Mrs. Miracle babysat Holly's nephew and was talking to him and reading to him and being really nice.
I would recommend this book to people who love romance books.

Prom, Ellie O'Ryan, 234 pages, May 10, 2011

I just finished reading 234 pages out of the book Prom by Ellie O'Ryan on May 10, 2011.  It's about a girl named Nova who is the head of the Prom Commitee.  She has just finished the decorations, when the shed her decorations were stored in caught on fire.  Principal Dunnan assigned Jesse Richter to help repair the damage.  Both Jesse and Nova don't want to work together.  But as the two teenagers spend more time together, they realize how opposites attract.
My favorite character in this book was Jesse.  I liked him because he was awesome!  For example, he has muscles, he rides a motorcycle...what more could you ask for?
I would recommend this book to teenage girls.
