Just Ella, Maragret Peterson Haddix, 218 pages, June 13, 2011

I just finished reading 218 pages out of the book Just Ella by Margaret Peterson Haddix on June 13, 2011.  It's about a girl named Ella who is swept away to marry a prince and become a princess and live in a castle.  Sounds nice, huh?  Well, soon Ella realizes that she doesn't love the prince.  She doesn't want to marry him.  So now, Ella must figure out a way to escape...and stay alive.
My favorie character int this book was Mary, the servant girl.  I liked her because she was kind.  For example, when Ella was trapped in the dungeon and starving, Mary brught her food and a shovel to dig herself out.
I would recommend this book to girls 10-14.

Out of the Dust, Karen Hesse, 227 pages, June 13, 2011

I just finished reading 227 pages out of the book Out of the Dust by Karen Hesse on June 13 2011.  It's about a girl named Billie Jo who is stuck in the Oklahoma Panhandle during the dustbowl.  It hasn't really bothered her much, especially since she has her piano to keep her company and she has a new baby brother on the way.  But when a terrible disaster crushed Billie Jo'shopes and dreams, she feels like it's time to get out of the dust.
My favorite character in this book was Louise.  I liked her because she was a good listener.  For example, when Billie Jo was telling Louise about her life, she nodded but was listening very well.
I would recommend this book to kids 11+.

Soul Surfer, Bethany Hamilton, 222 pages, June 10, 2011

I just finished reading 222 pages out of the book Soul Surfer by Bethany Hamilton on June 10, 2011.  It's about a girl named Bethany who loves to surf.  One day she goes surfing and gets her arm eaten off by a tiger shark.  But she puts all her faith in God and trusts him to help her cope with a missing limb.
My favorite character in this book is Bethany.  I liked her because she has such a great faith in God.  For example, when Bethany lost her arm, she just let God take care of everything and knew that she was going to use her story as an inspiration.
I would recommend this book to people 10+.

The Hiding Place, Corrie ten Boom with John and Elizabeth Carrol, 241 pages, May 2011

I just finished reading 241 pages out of The Hiding Place by Corrie ten Boom with John and Elizabeth Carrol in May of 2011.  It's about a woman named Corrie who is sent to a concentration camp with her sister Betsie.  They hate it there, but they have to figure out how to be grateful in all circumstances and trust God.
My favorite character in this book is Betsie.  I liked her because she loved God and everybody else.  For example, when the guards were beating her up, she still loved them and worshiped God.
I would recommend this book to people 13+.
