Princess for Hire, Lindsey Leavitt, 239 pages, April 17, 2011

I just finished reading 239 pages out of the book Princess for Hire by Lindsey Leavitt on April 17, 2011.  It's about a girl named Desi who is miserable because her ex-best friend Celeste is dating her secret crush Hayden and she is humiliated because Celeste found out her job: Gladys the Groundhog who advertises the Pets Charming pet store.  But Desi soon finds an ad in the paper about a Princess for Hire which she soon finds out is a substitute princess agency.  Desi is totally thrilled but she soon finds out that being a surrogate for a princess isn't all that easy.  Like when you end up having to play the French Horn and you don't even know how, or when you must perform a dance you don't know, or when you have to get a princess's lifetime love to change his mind about Duchess Olivia and start liking her!  And one wrong mistake, and Desi could lose her substituting privileges...forever.
My favorite character in this book was Meredith, Desi's agent.  I liked her because she was all tough, but then showed her soft side later on.  For example, Meredith was always yelling at Desi when she did something wrong, but in the end, she saved Desi from losing her substituting privileges.
I would recommend this book to girls 9-13.
