Umbrella Summer, Lisa Graff, 235 pages, April 9, 2011

I just finished reading 235 pages out of a book called Umbrella Summer by Lisa Graff on April 9, 2011.  It's about a girl named Annie who's brother died four months ago from a heart disease.  Everybody said that Annie's brother Jared was all right but then he died.  Now Annie is all worried that she is going to get a disease and die.  She can't be a kid because she is always too busy reading books about diseases and worrying about dying.  But then a new neighbor comes along and tells Annie to close her "umbrella" and step out into the sunshine.
My favorite character in this book was Mrs. Finch, Annie's new neighbor.  I liked her because she was nice.  For example, when Annie tried to spy on Mrs. Finch and Mrs. Finch caught her, she didn't get mad.  In fact, she ended up inviting Annie over later on.
I would recommend this book to kids 8+.
